Fresh from dinner, we left the mall and drove South-bound to Starbucks Petron. There we continued to talk about anything and everything we could have ever thought of, and of course, Zombadings. We watched it prior to dinner and was helluva fun. Anyway... Baristas are usually cool people to see. Always smiling and very pleasant. Hmm. Or maybe it's because they get paid to be nice? Forgive me, baristas, it's just me thinking out loud. Oreo Cheesecake, Php 115 Tall Java Chip Frappucino, Php 155 I finished the cake but left about 1/4 of my drink. I think I was too full to be dessert-ing that much. Blame it on my sweet tooth.

  I wonder why I never thought of giving this a shot until today. Located just outside Save More supermarket, which I almost always frequent when I hit Festival Mall, is a relatively small area where not too many guests may be accommodated. We sat on one corner and browsed the menu. Having heard of restaurants that by its name says "chicken" makes me start to itch.  And so to divert from the usual, we opted to have La Paz Bachoy, rice and Sizzling Pusit. Regular La Paz Bachoy, Php 95 Upon ordering, we gave a simple instruction to have the soup split into two. It was not done. Instead, it was served in a medium-sized bowl. Sigh. Sizzling Pusit, Php 185 I'd give the squid a big thumbs up! Cooked not too well, making it not chewy as a gum and spiced just right. We're on another food adventure and decided to, again, try a new place.  This thing works by flipping. Creamy Corn Soup :), Php 55 This is so far the best corn soup I've tasted. It has the authentic "corn" feel unlike the ones in foil packs that you only need to boil in water.   * Oyako Pepper Rice, Php 195 * Comes with a special sweet sauce * Pork Barbecue Pepper Rice, Php 185 It had to have that paper around it coz it's sizzling hot! Blueberry Cheesecake ice cream, Php 83 It not only looks entertaining, but tastes equally delicious as well. Thumbs up for blue ice cream! In the middle of a (long) trip from Laguna to Antipolo, we stopped by Gateway  Mall to have something to munch on. We didn't have anything particular in mind, so we headed to the food court. There were lots to choose from, but lines were long so we opted for the one where we'd not need to spend much time on queuing alone. Grande Meal, Php 299 We ordered a meal for two. It looked enough to satisfy our tastebuds, and since it was a first time for me, it was also a chance to try different varieties. Churros is love :). And being an avid cheese fan, I'd like to give 'em a huge thumbs up for their Grilled Taquitos. Yuuum. I instantly got hooked with Taco Bell, that I immediately wanted to try the experience for the second time. I was on my way to Makati from QC when I had a feeling that was so hard to resist. I remembered how much I wanted to eat again at Aveneto, so I made way to visit. During my high times as a "Makati Girl", I used to frequent the place. And since I left my former office, I didn't have the chance to go back. What I truly missed ordering was their pesto pasta, regardless if it's plain, with chicken or whatever. As soon as the waiter came to ask for my orders, I immediately came up with these : bottomless lemonade, Php 80 Cheddar Munchers, Php 160 I love cheese so much that everywhere I go, I'd settle for anything with it. These balls are breaded cheese with potato in it. So lovely paired with its special tomato dip. Nut Pesto with Chicken, Php 260 The scent of pesto makes me happy. I usually have this variety to divert from the usual tomato and cream-based pastas we do at home. Being alone didn't mean being sad....

There are only a few chocolate cakes that I like and this one's of them. I got to first try it a few years ago, when the boyfriend brought one from Los Baños, Laguna. Long before I've tasted it, I was only reading about it on online forums. We were at SM Calamba yesterday to deliver my baked cupcakes for Weng, a former co-worker, when we saw the Mer-Nel's sign just across National bookstore on the second level. I think this is the first time they went out of their comfort zone to let more people taste their cakes and bring them closer to those who patronize their products. One medium-heart size costs just Php 195. Yes,  you read it right, 1-9-5. The round one, at just Php 290! I guess there'll be reasons to be back at SM Calamba. Php 55 toll fee is nothing compared to the hassle of going to Los Baños. Such a great move for the family that made these yummy cakes a hit!  What's to look forward to about this is its moistnes...

A long time ago, there's been a debate that ran in the family as to the correct pronunciation of the name of this restaurant. Even waiters and waitresses would have different ways of saying it, so it gets me more confused. But forget about that. Last Sunday, before heading to Cartimar, we stopped by Cash and Carry Mall in Makati. We walked around a bit to check out something to eat for lunch. It was noon time, but fortunately there were still a lot of available seats. We were guided to take the stairs and settled at the second level. As soon as we're seated, we were handed menus so we can take a pick of what we wanted. Here's what we had : Nido Soup w/ Quail Eggs, php 195 This, and that picture below + rice is called Combo C4, php 385 Combo C4 is a platter of 1/2 Chicken, Pancit Canton, Salt and Pepper Squid, Rice, Turon and Tropical Cooler.
