On a random Saturday night, I craved for something salty and maki. And since we were in the Makati area, we thought of going back to John and Yoko.
What I love from these Marvin Agustin restos (including Sumo Sam) is the California roll. Couldn't trade it with any others'. Love it with lots of crab meat on top.

Maki and salad were served first, so before everything else arrived, I was already half-filled. It's my first time to try their prawn salad. Presentation was good. But in terms of taste, there's nothing to be too happy about. Rice seemed heavy so I took just a portion of it with chicken.
I also ordered Green-colored iced tea, too, which is actually iced tea in Green Tea flavor.
Honestly, aside from the rolls, I didn't find anything to look forward to from this "Japanese-inspired" restaurant. I'm not saying that their meals aren't delicious or they don't look appealing or anything, but to me, there may be other stores to get these dishes from where you won't need to spend too much.
I don't discourage anyone from dining here 'cause as you see, the place looks so elegant, you may think you're "cool" or "elite", but the food isn't as different as other Japanese-themed restos. Plus, the fact that it's (co)-owned by an artista can be another (+).
I may go back in the future, but unlikely in the next few months. ;)
