Heard about the Food Adventure on the news two weeks ago and last
Saturday afternoon, off we went to McKinley Hill to personally
experience it.
First restaurant : Pho Hoa
Not only does this look so appealing, but filling, as well! :)
Second : KBop
These pancakes taste better than they look like in this picture. :)
Third : Little Asia
There are supposed to be six curls... Who took one away?! Hahaha! Mango dip doesn't match with the curls if you will ask me.
Meaty, meaty rolls paired with a special dip! Yuuummmm! Down side : Fried. :(
Fourth : Figaro
We were exhausted with our taste-testing so we thought of getting a quick massage. Yes, food + massage makes a great combination.
It was almost 8pm when the massage finished, just in time for the Martin Nievera show. We literally walked in every restaurant but most of them were filled up with customers watching the mini-concert, that we settled for just any place where there were still vacant seats.
Fifth : Red Crab. This was the disappointing part of the "adventure". We were served with bean curd and embutido balls that tasted mostly like flour. I honestly appreciate the effort of creating something not included in the Red Crab menu for this event's purpose, but I sincerely wish they exerted more effort, though. The serving was too few and yet we ended up not finishing it.
Sixth : Ramen Bar
The buns were promising, I tell you. Chicken was.. okay, but because it's oily (like a lot of what we had before Ramen Bar), I ended up not consuming all.
Seventh : Yo Swirls by BTIC
I will be very biased if I say this is one of my favorites on this trip. First, because it's mangoes. Second, it's yogurt. I would appreciate it better if it's a little on the sour side. Then again, it's creamy and I liked it.
Eighth: Sol Gelato
A big "WOW" to the owner/sales person of Sol Gelato. Not only does he have great PR with guests, but also that he manages to personally be involved with the business. And about the gelato? It's perfect for the hot/humid weather this summer and all flavors are a must-try!
Sol Gelato was our last stopover. The restaurant-hopping went on from 4 pm - 9 pm. Time too limited :(
This was my first time ever to literally walk in and out to/from one restaurant to another and I think it's cool, tiring and filling all at the same time. There were over 12 restaurants you can choose from, or even all hop into, if you can.
I tried to check by looking at every restaurant's menu and the prices of the featured samplers/meals. Happy to find out that our six hundred bucks was super worth every centavo even if we weren't able to drop by all the restaurants that took part in the Food Adventure.
I hope there'd be more events like this... I'd gladly be a guest. :)
Now for my Top 3 Picks (in no particular order) :
For inquiries, you may call the Concierge at 709-9888/709-0888/0917-8380111.
When
you get to the venue, at the lobby, you will be welcomed by a
representative to whom you can get tickets. Once you pay Php 600
(for one person only), you will be given a food passport and
identification bands for Saturday and Sunday. Then you
may start going around, your choice where you want your adventure to
begin.

ReplyDeleteKit Kat : I believe this went on only until last 3/31. You can call the numbers I posted so you could inquire... It's a really fun experience, a must-try. No, you don't have to eat everything in one day. You may enjoy this adventure for 2 consecutive days (Sat. & Sun.).
