Mister Kabab

I have loved Keema since I've had it the first time about 4 years ago. On one fine Saturday afternoon, we took a roadtrip to West Ave. in QC to satisfy our cravings. Keema w/ Eggplant and a huuuge serving of rice is nice :) (Php80) Soup (Php 50) This is soup out of beans. It's physically similar to monggo , but differs in terms of taste - a bit slimy, actually. I forgot what this is really called, but in the receipt I am seeing it as "Shile". Extra butter ftw! (Php 10) Salad to send your "umay" away (Php 85) Special Chelo Kebab (Php 140) Garlic sauce Garlic sauce does the wonder! It gives the perfect kebab taste we enjoy and it's the secret to a great kebab experience. A bill of less than Php 600 was a total steal! I wish the owner would consider putting up a branch somewhere here in the South. Please.

Trying to Find Serenitea...

When I read blogs or magazines about foods that interest me, I find means to try it myself so I can give it my two cents. Early this evening, while waiting for my folks to arrive, I had the chance to walk by a stall of one of the most talked about milk tea stores on different online forums - Serenitea! From where I entered at Alabang Town Center, it was easy to find it, since it had a bright green light showing the name "Serenitea". As a first timer, I didn't feel intimidated or anything because the staff were nice and deciding which one to order was easy because they had a list of all their best-sellers.     I tried Okinawa milk tea with pearl sinkers ( sago , fyi) with only 75% sugar on it, and it's good! I enjoyed the chewiness of the sinkers, tasted just right, and didn't miss the actual taste of tea. P95 for a medium-sized cup, I'd say, is worth the price. Okinawa milk tea Oh, I really have to go back soon and try out the

Seafood Island's Anniversary Offer

My mom told me about this yesterday without really knowing full details of the said promo, so off we went this evening to find out. As part of giving back to customers what they have contributed for the last 7 years, Seafood Island celebrated it with a BIG promo - 70% off on Dapitan's Pride Boodle! Dapitan's  Pride Boodle, for 5-6 persons, regularly priced at Php 1135 For those who do not know, Dapitan's Pride Boodle is composed of Crispy Coco Gin Shrimps, San Mig Clams, Grilled Tilapia, Grilled Squid, Laing, Steamed Crabs, Pork Liempo, Kalkag Rice, and Atchara. It's served in a huge piece of wood covered with banana leaves (usually used in boodle fights). We came in a group of 8 so aside from Dapitan Boodle, we also had Tali Beach, Bangus Sisig, and Sinigang na Maya-maya. Tali Beach, for 5-6 persons, Php 1150 Bangus Sisig, Php 175 Sinigang na Maya-maya, Php 385 It was a pleasure to be part of Seafood Island's 7th year annive

Oreo Cheesecake & Frappe

Fresh from dinner, we left the mall and drove South-bound to Starbucks Petron. There we continued to talk about anything and everything we could have ever thought of, and of course, Zombadings. We watched it prior to dinner and was helluva fun. Anyway... Baristas are usually cool people to see. Always smiling and very pleasant. Hmm. Or maybe it's because they get paid to be nice? Forgive me, baristas, it's just me thinking out loud. Oreo Cheesecake, Php 115 Tall Java Chip Frappucino, Php 155 I finished the cake but left about 1/4 of my drink. I think I was too full to be dessert-ing that much. Blame it on my sweet tooth.

Bacolod Chk-n-BBQ House

I wonder why I never thought of giving this a shot until today. Located just outside Save More supermarket, which I almost always frequent when I hit Festival Mall, is a relatively small area where not too many guests may be accommodated. We sat on one corner and browsed the menu. Having heard of restaurants that by its name says "chicken" makes me start to itch.  And so to divert from the usual, we opted to have La Paz Bachoy, rice and Sizzling Pusit. Regular La Paz Bachoy, Php 95 Upon ordering, we gave a simple instruction to have the soup split into two. It was not done. Instead, it was served in a medium-sized bowl. Sigh. Sizzling Pusit, Php 185 I'd give the squid a big thumbs up! Cooked not too well, making it not chewy as a gum and spiced just right. Bachoy was a little on the salty side so we weren't able to finish it all. What we consumed only costs P310. I'd say cheap for a meal for two. Just one point to sort of r

Sizzzzzzlin' Pepper Steak

We're on another food adventure and decided to, again, try a new place.  This thing works by flipping. Creamy Corn Soup :), Php 55 This is so far the best corn soup I've tasted. It has the authentic "corn" feel unlike the ones in foil packs that you only need to boil in water.   * Oyako Pepper Rice, Php 195 * Comes with a special sweet sauce * Pork Barbecue Pepper Rice, Php 185 It had to have that paper around it coz it's sizzling hot! Blueberry Cheesecake ice cream, Php 83 It not only looks entertaining, but tastes equally delicious as well. Thumbs up for blue ice cream! Overall, we had a great dining experience at Sizzlin' Pepper Steak. Foods were mouth-watering, only though, that I had a bit of "umay" factor with what I ordered (Oyako Pepper Rice). You can say it's because of the huge serving, the chi
