Shakey's Pacita Experience

This is a rant on our recent Shakey's dining.

Last night, the boyfriend and I, together with our dog, decided to eat at Shakey's Pacita since it's the ONLY animal-friendly establishment in our area. We've been there before with our pet and did not encounter any problem. Like what we usually do, we stayed at the veranda area. We were already seated, have placed our orders, just waiting for our food to arrive until we realized it was too dusty outside. We politely asked if we can move in (specifically at the closest table to the door) because of the situation. The crew who was accommodating us, Warren, found a seat by the window and told us to just stay there. Minutes later, he approached us again and reminded us that they cannot let us stay inside with the dog and if we would allow it, we can leave him where we first stayed. Hell no! We refused and told them our orders will be for take-out instead.

What was upsetting on the boyfriend's part was how the manager confronted Warren as to why he let us stay there. Okay, rules are rules. But how can they explain this particular incident I personally witnessed around 2 weeks ago, when I saw a group of people seated at the particular place where we're seated with a pup? We confronted the manager, told him we understand where he's coming from and all, but asked for an explanation why or how the incident I mentioned happened. His voice was low. Croaky or brittle, I can't say. Haha. Anyway, minutes before we left, the manager left without a trace and until we stood up and left, he was nowhere to be found. I hope he wasn't crying then :s

I wish there would be more pet-friendly establishments to avoid this kind of situation. AND, to restaurant owners, it's okay to be strict with the implementation of "No Pets Allowed", but please make it fair to all and PLEASE, don't make me see this kind of irregularity for myself. I don't want to go through this kind of confrontation again with managers who cannot say anything but "I'm sorry."
